Group objectives:

Teaching correct and adequate
consumption of natural resources in order to protect the
environment.

Protection of Misho region ecology and
plant and animal diversity.

Educating people specially the youth in
the field of environment protection.

Introducing environmental potentials of
the region and attempting to develop and protect them.

Attracting the governmental authorities'
attention in order to perform the environmental projects in the
region.

Attracting the charitable people's
attention in the region in order to incorporate and invest in
environmental schemes.

Performing various environmental
programs.

Attempting towards steady development.

Attempting towards the creation of a
motive for exhilaration and freshness among people.
This group was formed in 1999 due to the
decision of founder members consist of 10 members and at the beginning,
the current activities were started after choosing the temporary board
of directors and in the next years, the members of the board of
directors of the group were selected by holding public assembly meetings
mostly at Kharmanyeri environmental shelter complex. The board of
directors subsequently introduces the head secretary of the group who is
the group lawful and legal representative, and the huge decisions of the
group are discussed and passed in the meetings of the board of
directors.
The group activities are progressing by the
following committees in accordance with the broadness of the dimensions:
scheme and program, secretary ship, public relations, technical,
inspection, supplies, financial, woman and medical committees.
The membership is in the forms of normal,
active and honorary.
It is noted that the members of the board of directors and the founder
members serve voluntary.
The
environment: Green Areas
-
Arboriculture (sapling planting) up to
12 thousand saplings with environmentally consistent diversity in
Misho Mountains especially at kharmanyeri shelter complex.
-
Reproduction of more than 4 thousand
saplings native to the region in plastic bags and metal cans.
-
Fencing in 500 planted sapling in order
to protect them against animals.
-
Presentation of 50 hectare forestation
scheme provided that land is granted by the natural resources
department.
-
Performing a part of green belt plan
with 5 kilometer length from shanejan village restrict to the
shelter place (sapling planting on the two sides of the road).
The
environment: Wildlife
-
Taxidermy of animals discovered from
illegal hunters in order to familiarize people with the region
biological values (11 cases).
-
treatment of injured wild animals
including 3 golden eagles, common buzzard, horned owl (eagle owl),
kestrel, marten, sea birds, … which were returned to their natural
habitat after recovery.
-
Wildlife hunting control by the
organization helpers, members of Yashil Misho group, which has had a
very important role in preventing and restricting illegal hunts all
over the region (more than 350 cases).
-
Approval of the proposed scheme about
prohibition of hunting in Misho Dagh Mountains through environmental
high council.
-
discoveries (10 weapons, 1 metal trap, 1
rabbit, 2 rock doves, 1 horned owl ( eagle owl), 2 golden eagles).
Note: the discovered items except
for the second case were delivered to Shabestar environment
department.

Visiting Yashil Misho group activities
by scientific personalities including prf. Michael Ounsted, the
international adviser on Lake Orumiyeh regeneration scheme, prf.
Rahmanzadeh, resident of Germany, prf. Kheirabi, prf. Gharehyazi…

Holding a ceremony on the occasion of
the global day of ponds and performing a symbolic act on Lake
Orumiyeh beach in 2007.

Holding a competition as '' Ziafat _e_
Sabz'' on Ghadr nights in holy Ramezan all over Shabestar mosques
with the cooperation of the representative of the province national
organization of the youth in 2007.

Cleaning the environment of Misho Dagh
Mountains and Shabestar restrict from the contaminant materials (11
cases).
-
Popular green assemblies in order to
familiarize and notify people and authorities of the environment
issue which have been held, as an initiative of this group, all over
the country since 2001, usually in the last days of Ordibehesht, and
as five annual assemblies (with the attendance of 750 people in
2001,1000 people in 2002,3000 people in 2003,5000 people in 2004 and
6000 people in 2005).

The annual assembly of animal husbandry
with the invitation of animal husbandmen and shepherds of Misho Dagh
Mountains margin in order to familiarize them with environmental
values and the role of animal husbandman and shepherd in the
protection of natural areas and environment, including 4 programs
and with the attendance of more than 900 people.

The assembly of charitable people that
several meetings and assemblies in order to familiarize and interest
this group of people in protecting environmental values and
investing and cooperating with this case are held during it each
year with the invitation of the charitable people of the town and
those resident of capital.

The assembly of provincial NGOs which is
held several times each year with different objectives including
getting acquainted with the activities of Yashil Misho group,
exchange of ideas and views, conveying experiences, ….

Installing metal bins in the public
areas of Misho Dagh Mountains in order to encourage people to keep
the environment clean (40 cases).
-
15 period distribution of several
thousands of brochures and educational booklets with the cooperation
of 2885 people.
-
Holding educational workshops for 15
periods with the cooperation of 2885 people.
-
Holding educational and recreation comps
(including 38 programs with a total of 2157 people being present.
-
Holding cultural, religious and
environmental competitions all over the region in the fields of
painting, article writing and '' Ziafat _e_ Sabz'' in different
educational sections with the cooperation of the town department of
education, Shabestar women Dar Al Quran and the representative of
the youth national organization in the province.

Starting the group website with the
objective to inform about and introduce the group activities and
also to create an appropriate place in order to the interchange of
ideas among the environment fans.

Preparing and fitting a considerable
number of metal boards with environmental subjects (more than 200
boards) and writing on the walls (more than 2000 m2) in the field of
protecting and supporting the environmental values.

Printing the first local publication of
the group as Yashil Soaz in 5000 copies.
-
Designing and printing leaflets with
environmental subjects in 4000 copies in 2007.
-
Publication of the environmental
information booklet (Yashil Soaz) in 3000 copies in 2008.
Construction
activities
-
Construction of Yashil Misho Majin
environmental shelter complex (Kharmanyeri) with the foundation of
150 m2 including 4 rooms, 1 storage and a toilet with welfare
facilities which could be used for environmental, sport,
entertainment … activities.
-
construction of two cisterns with
volumes of 30 and 150 m3 with the objective of supplying drinking
water for consumption and providing water for the planted sapling in
Kharmanyeri complex and also supplying water for the constructed
troughs for wild animals.
-
Construction of the group management and
education building: this building is being constructed as 3 floors
on a field with the area of 230 m2 which has been bought and
dedicated to the group by a charitable person, interested in the
environment, and two floors of this building have been exploited. It
is necessary to note that, based on the available information, this
group is the only one among the active environmental committees all
over the country which has an independent building, where is to be
used as an educational center as well as solving the group problems
in the north west of Iran.

Construction of a shady place with the
area of 500 m2 including stone pavement and kerbs.

Construction of a basement with 6
toilets and storages with the area of 40 m2.
-
Sandblasting on the road to the shelter.
-
Construction and regeneration several
watering toughs for wild animals.

Reconstruction of several shelters in
Misho Dagh Mountains.
Watershed management activities
-
Watershed management schemes: this
scheme includes the use of worn out tires of cars in order to
prevent soil erosion on steep slopes and also injection of water
into the underground resources. The number of accomplished schemes
is 4 cases.

Regeneration of several mountain
springs.
-
Discovering two springs and transferring
their water to the shelter complex with a distance of more than 2 km
through rocky and difficult to pass routes.
-
Water supply piping from two springs to
the mentioned cisterns with a length of more than 2000 m by
polyethylene pipes during the construction activities.
-
Irrigation network piping for several
thousand meters in order to supply water for 5000 planted saplings
in Yashil Misho shelter complex through polyethylene pipes with
different diameters.
Public
and professional sports

Mountaineering inside the country
including 60 programs with the attendance of more than 700 people.
-
Mountaineering outside the country: this
group is the first environmental group in the country that succeeded
in achieving Mount Ararat in Turkey in 2003 at the members' expense.

Public mountain climbing including 13
programs with the attendance of more than 870 people.
-
Public hiking including 9 programs with
the attendance of 5000 people.

Rock climbing.
-
Tube riding winter sport.

Holding body fitness and epical sport
training courses for the group members.

Mountain assistance (7 cases).

Cave walking (6 cases).

Discovery of the cave Til in Shabestar
town in 2000.
